The Bike:

FZR400 frame with custom aluminum subframe, EX500 motor (not quite stock), FZR600 front end with R1 calipers/pads and 929 master cylinder, FZR600 wheels, custom-built engine mounts, Hurricane 600 gas tank, Keihin 39mm carbs. Lots of custom fabrication and tons of ingenuity.  Built ground-up by SpeedWerks Racing.

The Rider:  Joe Ball

The Bike:

1988 EX500, F3 front end, F2 rear wheel with Ferodo floating rotor, braided SS brake lines and Ferodo sintered pads, rear end converted from drum to disk brake, 2 mil over ZX 11 pistons, porting by myself, Kiehen (sp?) 35 mm FCR smoothbore carbs with K&N individual filters, 95 ZX-6R Upper, 98 ZX-6R tail section. 600 Ninja aluminum swingarm and sub-frame, home made rearsets, puke lowers, and rear brake hardware.

This bike won the 2002 North Central Novice regional championship and was third at the GNF

1986 Yamaha SRX600, Works shocks, singe-carb conversion with 41mm Mikuni, braided SS brake lines, high compression piston and cam, Carrillo rod, Avon tires.

Engine work by B&M Engineering (Barker's Bars), JE high-compression piston, titanium rod, porting, titanium spring retainers, lightened flywheel, Mikuni flatslide carbs, B&M aluminum subframe, B&M dual exhaust with stainless headers, Barker's Bars clipons, hand-made fiberglass gas tank, Traxxion forks, Penske shock, Dymag magnesium wheels, Pirelli slicks, 520 conversion, Talon sprockets, Beasley Skorpion Sport Cup bodywork.

2003 results: Third place North Central region, fifth place GNF

Cosworth 590 kit, and other mild engine work, CR round slide carbs, F2 front end, CBR900RR front brake master cylinder, ZX6 swing arm with F2 rear wheel, custom tail section with Ducati tail, custom fairing bracket and dash, Fox rear shock, Woodcraft clip-ons and rear sets, Thermosman set-up front suspension, Bridgestone tires, Yosh exhaust.  Will have full ZX6 bodywork mounted for 2004.  Placed 3rd overall in points for Mid-Atlantic clubman novice in 2003.
